Introduction to Use and Purpose
-
Set the required torque value according to the job specification before beginning work.
-
To preset the torque, pull out the hexagonal adjustment rod at the tail end of the wrench, rotate it until the scale line aligns with the desired torque value, then reinsert the hex key to lock the setting in place.
-
Attach the appropriate socket to the square drive of the wrench and engage it securely onto the fastener. Apply force to the handle gradually and steadily. Once you hear a distinct "click" sound, the preset torque value has been reached — release force immediately.
-
When working with higher torque values, an extension bar may be attached to the handle to reduce operator effort. Upon hearing the "click," release force immediately, then gently push the wrench in the reverse direction to reset the internal mechanism.
-
When using the torque wrench for the first time, or after an extended period of non-use, perform 5–6 warm-up cycles at medium-to-high torque settings to allow the internal components to distribute lubrication evenly through the special lubricating system. After use, return the torque setting to the minimum value to relieve spring tension and allow all components to return to their resting position.
Notes and Precautions
-
Do not apply excessive force during operation. Never continue applying force after the preset torque has been reached. The wrench must not be used beyond its rated torque range. Once the "click" signal is heard, release the applied force immediately.
-
Handle the wrench with care. Do not use it as a striking tool. Do not disassemble or modify the wrench arbitrarily, as this may compromise measurement accuracy.
-
Store the wrench in a dry environment to prevent corrosion and rust over time.
-
The wrench should be calibrated regularly to ensure continued measurement accuracy.
-
For large-specification torque wrenches, an extension bar must be used. Ensure the extension bar is properly and securely connected to the wrench handle before applying torque.
